Hike the Wickaboxet Management Area Trail in Rhode Island

Directions

From Providence R.I.:
Take 95 South to RI Route 102
Follow 102 to Plain Meeting House Rd.
The sign is way down the road on the right. A parking lot is available.

On this 5 mile hike you can get a little exercise the easy way! All trails are wide and relatively flat. We went in the Spring when the entire trail was beautifully studded with wildflowers. The area is remarkably quiet and serene (no ATV's are allowed). This walk takes you to the site of an old firetower and ends up at beautiful Rattlesnake Ledge - to local folks, it's very similar to our own Assonet Ledge. A short uphill climb takes you to a pristine view atop the ledge - no houses or roads can be seen (there are a few cell towers, however.) It's nice to know there are still some almost perfect panoramic views in our area.

The entire hike takes about 2 and a half hours. If this is too long for you, take the quick route right from the parking lot directly to the ledge.
