Regional Air Quality

Being based in Fall River, MA, with many of our members having been born, raised and now, working, in this once-famous textile city, we are acutely aware of sources of pollution, with air pollution topping the list. Our area is home to a Republic Services Allied Waste Dump, the largest solid waste dump in Massachusetts. Dominion's Brayton Point Power Plant, the largest fossil fuel fired power plant in New England.  Other large industrial sources of air pollution, not to mention the formerly notorius Fall River incinerator which we were successful in shutting down. We take an active part in trying to improve air quality. Like the American Lung Association says, "When you can't breathe, nothing else matters."
