Mission Statement

Green Futures is a non-profit educational and advocacy organization made up of women and men who share a common concern for the protection of their environment as well as the economic viability of the communities in which they live.

Green Futures sees dynamic communities where environmental stewardship leads to sustainable development and employment for everyone.

All communities are entitled to clean air, clean water, sufficient open space, and indigenous wildlife species viable and intact.

Green Futures practices the "think global - act local" concept for our earth environment as outlined by the United Nations at the Conference on the Environment and Development resulting in the Rio Declaration of 1992. Principal 1 of that declaration states: "Human Beings are at the center of concern for sustainable development. They are entitled to a healthy and productive life in harmony with nature."

"We have not inherited the earth from our parents, we have borrowed it from our children". - James D. Nations
