May 2019 - May's Bioreserve Walk, May Flowers, BFR Ride

ACTIVITY ALERT - Our recent May Exploring the Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve Walk and the upcoming Annual Turtle Walk

Most of this spring, so far, has been cool and rainy ...except for this past Saturday. Saturday was sunny and the sky was blue with a few white fluffy clouds so we hiked 5 1/2 miles from the Copicut River at Quanapoag Road northeast to view the Boiling Spring and then we followed Edmund House Road to Flag Swamp Road and then south and west over Quanapoag Hill and back to the trailhead we had started from

Along the way we had great views of the awakening spring forest and as we walked along we heard and/or saw great crested flycatchers, various returning spring warbler species, orioles, tree swallows, mourning doves, wild turkeys, a garter snake, grey and red squirrels and a plump deer. The following photos courtesy of Liz and Charlie.

The Turtle Walk is dependent on the weather ...and the turtles. It will be either the last week in May or the first week in June. Watch for it.

Bike Fall River Memorial Day Ride

Bike Fall River had a great Memorial Day ride - Tiverton High School to South Beach in Little Compton and back. The day was perfect; the traffic was light and the beach was warm and sunny.
